Travel Retail at International Airports

Malta International Airport: We have operated successful outlets at the Malta International Airport for over 25 years, focusing on skincare, cosmetics and designer fashion. This has enabled us to build a deep knowledge of the airport travel retail sector and we are proud to include travel retail specialists amongst our highly-trained staff.

Our first airport outlet at MIA was Leaders Skincare and Cosmetics at the MIA Departures Lounge from 1992 to 2008, followed by Singu1ar Skincare and Cosmetics, which operated from the MIA non-Schengen departures lounge from 2008 until the end of its concession in 2014.

We operated the busy Singu1ar designer fashion outlet at the Schengen Departures Lounge at MIA from 2009 until 2018, specialising in Lacoste, Guess and Liu Jo textiles and accessories.

Benghazi Benina International Airport, Libya: Since the airport’s re-opening in 2017, Salvo Grima Group has established an exclusive supply agreement with the operators of a brand-new multi-brand retail outlet in the departures lounge at the Benghazi Benina International Airport. International flights are on the increase as the political and economic situation stabilizes further in Libya and there are currently about 40 weekly international flights to Tunis, Alexandria, Cairo, Amman and Istanbul, making this an exciting new project with scope for ongoing growth.

Tripoli International Airport, Libya: Apart from working at MIA, we ran successful retail outlets at Tripoli International Airport and at the Libyan-Egyptian Border in partnership with Gebr. Heinemann and Air Malta subsidiary Air Supplies Catering Company Ltd for over ten years. These outlets ceased operations in 2011 following the Libyan Revolution.
